D. Ray Yerger Memorial Scholarship
D. Ray Yerger was director of music for Haverford School District from 1929 until his passing in 1968, and is considered the "father of music" in the district. BOPs is pleased to award the D. Ray Yerger Memorial Scholarship of $1,000 to the graduating senior who exhibits outstanding responsibility, leadership, and dedication to Haverford’s music program, and has chosen to either major or minor in music at a school of higher learning.
Muriel News Memorial Scholarship
Named in memory of Muriel News, a former officer of BOPs, this $1,000 scholarship is granted to a graduating senior who is continuing his or her education in a major other than music, who has demonstrated outstanding responsibility, leadership, and dedication to Haverford’s music program.
BOPs President’s Awards
In 2004, the Band and Orchestra Parents established the BOPs President’s Award. It is presented each year to graduating seniors who exhibit exceptional effort, service and commitment to Haverford’s music program. These impressive students deserve to be recognized for their contributions to our program.
